Discover the Essence of Kerala Cuisine

Kerala cuisine is renowned for its diverse and flavorful dishes, which are a true reflection of the region’s cultural heritage. At Thekkanchef, we specialize in Nadan foods, a term that denotes traditional Kerala home-style cooking. Our menu is a testament to the culinary artistry of Kerala, featuring an array of dishes that are rich in taste and tradition.

Signature Dishes

  • Appam and Stew: A quintessential Kerala breakfast, our appam (soft, fluffy rice pancakes) paired with a delicate, coconut milk-based vegetable or meat stew is a crowd favorite. The perfect balance of flavors makes it a delightful start to your day.

  • Puttu and Kadala Curry: Another breakfast staple, puttu (steamed rice cake) served with kadala curry (black chickpeas curry) is a hearty, nutritious meal that exemplifies the simplicity and richness of Kerala cuisine.

  • Karimeen Pollichathu: For seafood lovers, this is a must-try. Pearl spot fish marinated in a blend of spices, wrapped in banana leaves, and grilled to perfection. The result is a dish that’s both aromatic and bursting with flavor.

  • Beef Fry: A spicy, flavorful beef dish that pairs beautifully with Kerala parotta (layered flatbread). The beef is cooked with a mix of spices and coconut slices, giving it a distinctive taste that keeps you coming back for more.

  • Sadhya: Experience the grandeur of Kerala’s vegetarian feast. Sadhya is a traditional banquet served on a banana leaf, featuring an assortment of vegetarian dishes, pickles, and desserts. Perfect for special occasions or if you want to indulge in a wholesome meal.
